YouTuber PewDiePie caught up in new racism row

News

THE world’s biggest and highest-paid YouTuber, PewDiePie (aka Felix Kjellberg), is no stranger to controversy. In the past, he’s been banned from Twitter, and this isn’t the first time he’s been accused of racism.

Recently, the star found himself in trouble once again after using an incredibly racist word that is insulting towards black people, whilst live-streaming himself playing a game.

Too many offences?

Following his use of the word, he apologised, saying: “I don’t mean that in a bad way.”

But many say the star should have learnt his lesson by now. Earlier this year, PewDiePie’s paid-for YouTube show was cancelled, following more controversy and criticism after he told a joke that was anti-Semitic (offensive towards Jewish people).

Many YouTubers believe that PewDiePie’s actions and controversy reflect badly on all YouTubers who make a living on the site.

What a dummy. You can't say these things on social media

No, it's really wrong. I don't watch him because he swears waaaaaayyyy too much, but i know people who do. His fans gave him a chance the first and second he said offensive words - but this time he took it too far. You just don't say that word. It's basically forbidden in the English language. I agree with u unknown, he is a dummy.

Being famous is not a real excuse. Everyone is just as important, no matter what they look like.
