You’ll like this… the winner of The Young Magician Of The Year 2017 has been announced!

Dean Leavy, 17, from Windsor, fought off tough competition from six other young magicians from around the United Kingdom. You can watch his winning performance in full above, in First News exclusive, just by clicking the video – Accio!

The competition was held at The Magic Circle headquarters in London last Sunday and the judges included top magicians Romany, Dr Will Houstoun and Chris Wardle, all members of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star – which means they are the very best.

The contest, which is is held every two years, is open to magicians aged 14-17. Dean is a member of The Young Magicians Club, The Magic Circle’s Youth Initiative for budding magicians.

Members meet at The Magic Circle’s Headquarters where they share secrets, perform for each other and attend workshops from given by some of the world’s top magicians.

Any young budding magician is invited to join and more information is available from the Young Magician’s Club.
