CRISTIANO Ronaldo has beaten Messi to win the world’s best male player award for a second time at the 2017 Best Fifa Football Awards in London.
The Real Madrid and Portugal player beat fan favourites Lionel Messi and Neymar to the title.
It’s the second ever Best FIFA Football Awards show, which has drawn comparisons to the Ballon d’Or.
Ronaldo has also won Ballon d’Or award four times.
While similar, the Ballon d’Or is an award that’s given out by French football, and has been separate from FIFA since 2015.
Big winners
Other winners of the night included Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane, who was named best men’s coach and Netherlands’ Sarina Wiegman, who won best female coach.
