READ: North Korea launch latest missile, apparently capable of reaching the USA

News

NORTH Korea have tested yet another missile, this time saying that it could reach any part of the US.

The missile tested is called an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, or an ICBM – and the country says that by launching it, North Korea is now a nuclear state.

Like all of the country’s tested missiles, it landed in Japanese waters – but this time flew higher than any other missile previously tested.

South Korea responded by carrying out exercises in which they used actual bullets, and by launching one of its own ballistic missiles.

Peace-loving

North Korea’s state television said that “as a responsible nuclear power and a peace-loving state”, North Korea would “make every possible effort to serve the noble purpose of defending peace and stability of the world”.

They also said that the weapons were simply a defence against the US and that it would “not pose any threat to any country”.

Despite North Korea’s aggressive warnings, experts believe that the country is two to three years away from being able to fire a nuclear warhead at America using an ICBM.
