BAKERS in France are struggling to make enough pastries as the country is experiencing a butter shortage.

The growing demand for butter and pastries abroad has caused the mini-shortage, with the price of dairy products increasing, too.

This is making it harder for bakers to buy butter to make their famous croissants.

Milk production has also been affected.

Some supermarkets are now having to put signs up, explaining why they haven’t got much butter on their shelves.

Croissants are often served as part of a continental breakfast. This sort of breakfast typically consists of cheese, meat, croissants, pastries, rolls, fruit juices and coffee.
