PADDINGTON Bear is set to work for the charity UNICEF, becoming their official champion for children.

UNICEF is the world’s largest children’s organisation.

Paddington’s new job…

The iconic, marmalade-mad bear will help the charity to inspire and promote children’s rights around the world – keeping them happy, healthy and safe.

As part of his new job, Paddington will support OutRight, Unicef UK’s annual schools campaign that empowers children and young people to speak out about children’s rights on 20 November on World Children’s Day. A campaign for children, by children that helps promote and protect children’s rights in the UK and around the world.

This will focus on refugee children, using Paddington’s own story to educate others.

Support refugee children’s rights

For this year’s campaign, pupils across the country will speak out in support of refugee children’s rights – especially their right to protection and their right to be with family – and share their views on the refugee crisis.

Right now, refugee children are in real danger – 50 million children have been uprooted from their homes, most forced to flee from violent conflict. Many are making dangerous journeys and risking their lives in search of safety and close family.
