HERE at First News we are supporting OutRight, Unicef UK’s annual schools campaign that empowers young people to speak out about children’s rights on World Children’s Day (20 November).

What is OutRight?

OutRight is a campaign for children, by children that helps you to promote and protect children’s rights in the UK and around the world.

This year, pupils across the country will speak out in support of refugee children’s rights – especially their right to protection and their right to be with family – and share their views on the refugee crisis.

Refugee children are still in danger

Right now, refugee children are in real danger. Fifty million children have been uprooted from their homes, most forced to flee from violent conflict. Many are making dangerous journeys and risking their lives in search of safety and close family.

In 2017, OutRight will be bigger and better than ever with supporters like Muzoon Almellahan, Unicef’s youngest ever Goodwill Ambassador, and the new Unicef champion for children, Paddington Bear.

You can take action in school and the local community, and call on the Home Secretary to create positive change for refugee children.
